Splinters splinters splinters! The wooden tops should be avoided. These look great, no doubt about it. But… do not get the ones with the wooden tops. Seriously. They just put some nice stained wood tops on them for seats but they are not sanded smooth or anything. I only picked one up to place it near the table and noticed how rough the tops are. If you have shorts on I guarantee you will end up with splinters. If wearing slacks or some sweats they will pull your threads out. Only jeans are safe for these wooden tops. Light, Sturdy, And Comfortable This looks like a modern design, but its actually straight out of the late 1930’s. There have been a couple refinements since then, but the same functional aesthetic still holds. There are a couple weaker aspects to them that can be cheaply remedied to make them even better.First, as other reviewers have mentioned, the wood seat on top is quite rough-hewn. It looks like they simply cut a piece of wood to fit, gave it a one-coat stain, and called it good.
