So disappointing Update after 3 weeks:I’m totally flabbergasted by this machine. I’ve made pots of all sizes using the different brew speeds. When I look at the grounds in the basket, the top outside layer is dry and completely unextracted. The plastic parts don’t fit together well and they all feel (they might be but they feel) cheap. Perhaps it is really expensive to make a heater that can consistently deliver 200 degree water through the grounds but I don’t see how it is worth it at the cost of using…

Considerable amounts of plastic comes into contact with hot water I’ve been looking for a coffee maker that minimizes how much plastic leaches into the coffee I drink every morning. My expectation (given reviews that I’ve seen, the cost of the machine, the use of glass piping) was that this machine would minimize direct contact of boiling hot water with plastic-y parts. You will love it! Great brew and nice looking! I bought this coffee maker in 2012 after looking at and testing other brands, I am very happy with how well this machine has performed. We like a strong cup of coffee and it does the trick. We found that other brands brewed too quickly and didn’t make our coffee strong enough, some were too hot and some not hot enough.
