Save a little money with this tip. It’s a fine carafe. Works well. But – the little bump out at the front contains a magnet that tells the machine that a carafe is inserted, and it won’t make coffee unless you use the special K Carafe coffee pods. So I turned it over, unscrewed the magnet holder (with a tiny star bit) and remvoed the magnet. Now I can use the refillable K Cups and save a little money!
When you want to make more than just one cup. I wanted something to be able to make more than one cup in the Keurig, the Thermal Carafe does the job…. I can’t attest to the length of time it will stay warm, as I can finish up the Carafe in no time… but this will come in handy making tea for iced tea without having to let tea bags soak. Loose tea in reuseable filter and my iced tea will get made a lot quicker.
Does Not Keep Coffee Hot for Long Compared with other thermal carafes that use vacuum technology, this carafe is… meh. An hour after filling, the coffee has cooled more than expected.
