Don’t judge it by its looks It’s a bit ugly but it makes a mean cup of coffee. It took me a few tries to get just the perfect amount of grinds, water, and time on the stove but now I’m making the perfect cup of coffee. It’s sturdy, inexpensive. The wood handle has a rough finish but it does what it’s supposed to do – stay cool so I can grab it right off the stove. unfortunately this percolator came with the lid sitting in a way that wouldn’t allow it to close completely but fortunately I wa I purchased this from Amazon’s Warehouse Deals, unfortunately this percolator came with the lid sitting in a way that wouldn’t allow it to close completely but fortunately I was able to correct that problem without too much difficulty. Besides that issue I really like this little coffee pot and it works perfectly. The stainless steel seems very sturdy, the outside of the pot hasn’t gotten any dings since I have been using it. A delight to use After losing patience with automatics , I remembered the old days of the perculator. No wires, just put it on the burner, set a timer ( the only drawback is you cannot walk away for long ) , enjoy the coffee, easy to clean and store. Did you ever run plain water through one of those coffee makers and then taste the water ? And they are very hard to clean also.
