Thermos does NOT stand behind it’s products. Read on…. I have two of these. They work well BUT – the lid mechanism failed after two months of use on one of them. Called Thermos for warranty and they were happy to SELL me a new lid. Good at keeping coffee hot, Abysmal quality of finish. Best mug I’ve found for keeping coffee hot, but the painted finish on these things starts flaking off within a few weeks. I solved this with one of them by using a heat gun to remove the paint.They’re not inexpensive–for the price of these mugs, this is an inexcusable defect. See my photo below of three of our mugs.
Wish I had paid attention to the reviews mentioning the handle… I got this for my boyfriend for his birthday and we were both really pleased with the quality. His coffee remained hot all the way through a 45 minute work drive and into the early part of his work day. We’ve had no issues with leaks even with the Thermos laid sideways.The only problem is, 45 days later, he was washing the Thermos in the sink, and the handle just…. came off.
