Dark, robust, never bitter – our favorite coffee We use generic label products all the time, but coffee is one of the few items where we spend more and think it’s worth it. Stale, dry, old beans. Years old bag? Huge disappointment This had the potential to be a great buy, but what arrived ruined that hope. I didn’t wish to buy a bag of stale beansI would buy this size every time were it not for the fact the beans were old, dry and stale. There was not a hint of freshness (ie absolutely no oil on the beans that one sees with Starbucks French Roast). I get the impression this is an old bag of beans that had been on the shelf for years. BOLD NOT BURNT! Having lived in Rome, Italy for several years back in the 1980’s, I was used to being able to grab a delicious coffee whenever I wanted. When I returned home to the U.S., there were no coffee houses around back then to get a good cappuccino or espresso. I was over the moon when Starbucks came around with their French Roast! Please understand that this is a BOLD coffee, NOT A BURNT coffee! In my opinion, Starbucks is a delicious coffee and I am forever grateful to them for producing it!
