I wish it were still made in the US with the Char-Vac, but this is still a solid unit warrantied for life & I love it! Let’s clarify some rampant misinformation that’s floating around Amazon about the Stanley Thermos:1: The product is now manufactured in China and has been since 2002 when Aladdin, the company that owned the Stanley brand, went out of business thereby closing their US production facility in Nashville, TN. FILL IT WITH HOT WATER AND LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE YOU POUR IN YOUR DRINK First, I want to acknowledge a lot of the frustrations that have been posted about this product, and yes I am familiar with the old Stanley thermoses, but I honestly believe this does hold up when used properly. In the old Stanley models you never had to warm them up, at least from watching my dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa fill theirs up. I bought this thing in Nov 2016, now we … I bought this thing in Nov 2016, now we are in Oct 2017. Barely one year, the insulation part is falling apart. The insulation mechanism relies on the thin plastic/rubber ring. You can see from the attached pictures how they fared. In my opinion, this is a design flaw.
