Only Coffee For Me I don’t know how many bags of this coffee I have bought, but it is the only coffee I drink. It is rich without being bitter and has a wonderful flavor. Another good thing about this Indonesian coffee is its lack of acidity.
Good coffee roasted perfectly for those who like darker coffee This coffee is a quality bean that is roased medium to “city roast.” This is a little darker than most Sumatrans are roasted, but not roasted so dark that it loses the qualities of the beans. When the package is opened, it shows a slight oil on it, which indicates it is relatively fresh. A tip is to seal it in mason jars and store them in a dark pantry or cabinet. It’ll wake you up, but that’s about it To a certain extent, I knew what I was signing up for with French roast, as opposed to dark roast. However, I was expecting a rich Sumatra flavor, and that wasn’t in the offing. It was just overly roasted without the complexity of a decent Sumatra. Beans looked dry, not oily. On the plus side, this much roasting didn’t seem to affect the caffeine content. On the plus side, given the strength, I set my grinder down to 8 cups from 12 for a 1L French press.
