Love it…..except Good idea gone bad. Firstly, the cup is ceramic and will scratch terribly if stirred with a metallic spoon. Instructions gave no warning of this. Be advised. 12/9 UPDATE. I sent Ember an email and photos of my cup with spoon scratches and they asked I return the cup for their R&D to inspect. They sent me a new cup.I use a Bunn brand K cup maker. According to the Ember app, the temperature of the newly brewed coffee is 162 degrees which I enjoy. Unfortunately the maximum…

UPDATED & FINAL rating and review on 3/15/18: Jury’s out – worked great for a week, then started to delaminate. Original Review:Simple to use right out of the box, and the app is not necessary if you’re satisfied with keeping tea warm at the default 130F, as we were. Keeps a charge for about 90 minutes before needing to go back on the charging plate; battery life seems shorter than it should for a product in 2017, but it was working fine for a cup of tea.BUT – the jury is out right now on whether we will continue to use, as the interior of the mug began to delaminate after 8 days…

Poor battery life ruins a great idea. I got this is a gift for my coffee- and tea-loving spouse who likes to drink slowly all day. In my head I was imagining something that would last for hours, but I’m really disappointed and will be returning it. She wants it to be hot, and 145 is the max temp. At this setting, it will last 30 or 45 minutes. Not worth 80 bucks (and CERTAINLY not worth the crazy markup people are charging here now). Don’t buy into the hype unless you’re OK with drinking it from the coaster all the time…
