“This dog won’t hunt” I know, I know, you usually get what you pay for. I had great hopes after reading the reviews here on Amazon that this would be decent coffee. I’m a coca cola drinker. Years ago I opened a bottle that had not been correctly capped. Thus it was still “coke” but not carbonated. So … it tasted like “coke” but you wouldn’t want to drink it. Same thing here. I tossed the open bag I made one French Press of it with and will do the same with the other two if I can’t give it away…

Just a really, really good cup of coffee! Our favorite coffee on the planet was Cafe’ Rey Dark Roast from Costa Rica… until the small family plantation closed. (It was a very sad end to decades of awesome coffee!) We tried literally dozens of other coffees searching for a non-acidic, bold flavored coffee that was still mild and smooth. Good value for money & quite tasty too! When looking for a coffee to use, I seek to balance flavor and cost. (With my fixed income, I drink to much to just get what I prefer – locally roasted small batch stuff. But, one pound of it is slightly more than the 3-pack of the CC Dark Roast.) I have been sampling coffees for about a year now, trying to one that balances flavor and cost. I prefer a dark roast, but one that is not overly acidic.
