Capomo (sometimes referred to as Maya Nut, Bread Nut, Ramon Nut, etc.) is rich in natural flavor and is prepared in the same way as coffee. Capomo can be enjoyed at any time of day or night because it is free from caffeine, stimulants, sugar and gluten. It does not increase blood pressure or heart rate, as coffee and other caffeinated beverages do. You do not have to deal with the “caffeine crash” (the ups & downs we get from drinking caffeinated drinks) Simply add hot water and enjoy! Capomo is harvested in a very unique and compelling manner. The Maya nuts are collected by hand from the jungle floor once they have fallen from the trees. Collection happens daily, in the early dawn before the animals have a chance to feed on them. Once the nuts are collected, they are dried in the sun for 2-3 months, at which time they are ready to be roasted and prepared for human consumption. Capomo (Brosimum alicastrum) is in the fig family and was the staple food for prehispanic cultures. This delicious superfood contains numerous nutritional benefits. This stuff is great! I was a hard-core coffee drinker for YEARS…until my stomach went on strike. Now I can’t even drink much decaf (YUCK!) without my stomach hurting. This is the closest thing to coffee I’ve found. MUCH better than the toasted carob powder I tried. I threw out my coffee pot a while back, so I’ve been using a French press. The grind of this Capomo is fairly coarse and works just fine in the press. The taste is great. I definitely recommend, even though it is a bit pricey.
Coffee snob is a convert! I’m a coffee snob. A big one! I – well, until recently – drank at least 8 cups a day, and it had to be the good stuff. No Folgers in my cup! Then I discovered that I was/am severely (like, no really – my level is at 10) anemic and Vitamin deficient as well. I didn’t want to consume anything that might disrupt my body from absorbing all the nutrients it could, so I’ve begrudgingly cut out coffee, and even black tea. I was “jonesing” like an addict! DELICIOUS WOW!! I’m impressed. I have been drinking teeccino for over a year and I love it. I received an Amazon gift card and thought I would try this based on reviews and a little research on the internet. It’s delicious. I mixed in a little organic cocoa powder, maple syrup. DELICIOUS!
