The key is the pressurized portafilter design, guarantees a quality espresso shot *Update*: Still like this machine but just beware that the screws in the water tank rust. The rust crumbles off and falls onto a ledge inside the water tank, not directly into the water, but it’s possible little pieces of rust can tumble into the water.

Great beginner machine, not for picky or professional baristas I am not a professional by any means, but I was a barista at a successful “mom n pop” coffee shop for a year, so I know how to pull a good shot and properly steam milk. I like good coffee, but I’m not a stickler. I wanted to be able to make my own espresso for americanos and the occasional latte at home. Great for the Price–Treat with care tho. How-to tips below: Great machine for the price. Steaming arm actually works on this generation. A few notes: 1. Take off and throw away the rubber/plastic thing on the steaming wand. 2. prime the steaming wand; a good squirt of water comes out first; you don’t want that in your milk!!. 3. prime the brew head as well for a few secs–twice; some cold water will get in your coffee if you don’t. 4. after you’re done brewing and have removed the portafilter, rinse the brewhead by just priming it for a couple…
