I really like this percolator!! This is a terrific coffee urn! I usually think percolated coffee tastes overdone. Most of the time it’s so scalding hot that all the nuances of the coffee go flat. This urn makes a very good tasting cup! It’s very easy to use too. The directions state that you don’t need a paper filter but suggest if you want to, you can use a basket-style filter and lay it flat in the filter basket. Works Perfectly, but too much plastic This 45 cup coffee maker/water heater works perfectly. I got it to heat water and to keep it warm. It heated 45 cups of water relatively quickly and kept the water warm for more than 24 hours while plugged in. The cord got hot while the water was heating up, but did not stay hot when the urn was using its second heater to maintain water temperature. It heats up water in a decent time to a good hot temperature.There’s no on/off switch, which I’m used to from my previous urn. This one starts boiling as soon as you plug it in.
