It’s a knockoff. Not a genuine Bodum. Misleading. I totally thought it was a genuine replacement glass for Bodum French Press when I ordered this. When I received it, I immediately noticed something didn’t look right. It seemed a little thinner than real Bodum, and the spout was crooked. And it didn’t even fit the Bodum French Press! So it was returned.
The 51 ounce beaker is correct for the 12 cup Bodum French Press This is exactly the right size for the 12 cup (actually 6 “8 oz” cups of coffee) Bodum French press. I have an older model, purchased at a Starbucks store about 15 years ago. By the way, do not use metal utensils in this glass; that’s how I cracked the beaker. I noticed that the diameter measurements varied in the answers section in reviews, so here is what my new beaker measures: the outside diameter across the top, is 4 3/4″, and the height is 7 1/2 “. That really is all…
I love the Bodum French press I love the Bodum French press. The replacement fits perfectly. I saw complaints about thinner glass and wrong sizes. I didn’t weigh mine (I just bought an extra one in case the current one ever breaks), but I did a simple displacement test and they seem about the same. Then again, my old one isn’t 10 years old, so I can’t attest to that. I’ve never had one break unless it was dropped.
