1. Only use a little graphite dry lube quiet it down nicely if there is a little noisy. You can scratch off the graphite from the pencil with a knife.
2. Prohibit to add oil to lubricate. Because the oil will mix with dust in the air to be oil-dirt. That will make the friction to be even bigger. The stirling engine can’t run freely then.

Fun and educational. Noisy though – gotta lube it up! Works and is fun, though I ordered white and got silver. Not blaming the product, that’s the seller’s fault.Noisy though – gotta use some dry graphite on the pushrods and crank connectors to lube it up. The pins holding the flywheel in place are actually silent and efficient – it’s mostly the displacer pushrod that makes noise. After I lube it I hope it gets more efficient. Struggling to get started at low power levels.

Good for class demos for intro thermodynamics Set up in two minutes. Clear instructions. Worked well on first try. You can slow it down with friction and then it picks up speed again fairly quickly and chugs along. The base is clear from the sides so you can see the piston underneath working. Good for class demos for intro thermodynamics.

Fun little toy to play around with Fun little toy to play around with. It’s a little squeaky at first but a little WD40 and it run with little to no noise. My only complaint would be it’s not all that easy to modify it but then again it was never designed to be modified with to begin with.
