Excellent, charming cookbook! This is a charming cookbook. The author is a wonderful storyteller: her Malibu is “where goats are beach bums…” and she provides the photo to prove it. If you’re into honey or goats, you will absolutely love this book, because her writing about honey and beekeeping, as well as goats and goat-cheese-making, is not only delightful but I hope useful to those just getting started. Not to mention keeping chickens or pigs! Most of her recipes and ingredients are simple and accessible,…

If you love local, fresh, and laid back food you will love this book I’m head over heels in love with Malibu Farm Cafe and Restaurant. A meal at the Malibu Pier is my definition of paradise. Thankfully, a lot of the recipes are documented in The Malibu Farm Cookbook. The book provides a look at Helene Henderson’s life and the evolution from caterer to farmer to dinner host to private chef to restaurant owner. The food style is local, fresh, and laid back. I received a copy of Malibu Farm Cookbook in exchange for a honest review.

Yum! We eat there…. I hope I can make some of these dishes as well as they do at the restaurant. But it’s a fun book anyway because it tells something about the culture around it.
